Powerful Artworks of Dramatic Skies and Summer Storm Majesty

A breathtaking collection by Murray Bolesta capturing the most beautiful skies in the world during monsoon season. That's southern Arizona! Powerful storm photography wall art that brings the drama and magnificence of desert weather to your walls.

What Makes This Collection Special

  • Unique storm-chasing vision: By venturing into the stormy landscapes, I capture these vistas and skyscapes that are nothing less than magnificent—towering thunderheads, lightning strikes, and rain curtains sweeping across vast desert horizons
  • Desert transformation: The land can be gray, brown and drab during summer, but when the torrents of rain come, a second spring instantly blooms, transforming parched earth into a second springtime almost instantly. Watch the roads!
  • Dramatic perspectives: From ominous storm fronts approaching across open valleys to brilliant double rainbows arcing over mountain ranges, experience the full power and beauty of Arizona's monsoon season with my art

Understanding Arizona's Desert Monsoon

The North American Monsoon occurs from mid-June through September when shifting weather patterns draw moisture from the Gulf of California and Gulf of Mexico northward into the Sonoran Desert. These powerful summer thunderstorms can drop inches of rain in minutes, filling dry washes and creating temporary pools that reflect the desert sky in gorgeous patterns. The monsoon provides roughly half of southern Arizona's annual precipitation, sustaining desert ecosystems and creating brief moments of wet beauty.

Absorb the poetry of desert storms through my carefully crafted fine art prints!
