Folks stroll the relaxing shopping street in days gone by, but similar to what you'll find today. Olvera Street is a Mexican Marketplace that recreates a romantic old Los Angeles with a block-long narrow, tree-shaded, brick-lined market with old structures. Many of the merchants on Olvera Street today are descended from the original vendors.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis picture is part of a book my wife Agnès and I are putting together with the working title \"Midcentury Road Trip: Images from a French Family's American Adventure in the 1950s.\" She was a child during this trip. This photograph represents my passion for heritage photography. The original photo by Jean is on a color film slide which I rescued and expertly scanned and restored with painstaking faith to the original. A black border surrounds the image which comes from the original slide frame.
