Collection: Baboquivari Peak - Landscape Art of Southern Arizona

Baboquivari Peak Photography - Sacred Mountain of the Desert

My various views of this magnificent peak depict a striking sentinel visible throughout the region. These landscape photographs capture the dramatic presence of southern Arizona's most iconic mountain from multiple perspectives and lighting conditions.

Sacred Peak of the Tohono O'Odham

Rising 7,730 feet from the Sonoran Desert floor approximately 60 miles southwest of Tucson, Baboquivari Peak stands as a sacred site within the Tohono O'Odham Indian Nation. In O'odham tradition, this is I'itoi's home—the spiritual center of their ancestral lands. The peak's distinctive granite spire also serves as southern Arizona's premier technical rock climbing destination, attracting mountaineers to its challenging 400-foot vertical face.
