What Makes This Collection Special

  • Unique artistic vision: Each image reflects my distinctive perspective—capturing both the intricate elegance of these winged jewels but also the colorful and striking backdrops of their wild habitats: desert wildflower meadows, mountain canyons, and rare wetland oases
  • Diverse perspectives: From delicate close-ups revealing wing patterns to environmental portraits showing butterflies amidst native flora, you'll experience the full range of lepidopteran beauty in context!
  • Harmony of nature: Reveals the vital connection between butterfly and habitat—the nectar plants, host species, and microenvironments essential to their survival

Southern Arizona's Butterfly Diversity

Southern Arizona hosts over 250 butterfly species, from endangered Monarchs migrating through on their epic journey to Mexico, to others like the Two-tailed Swallowtail and Mexican Bluewing. Desert species such as Queen butterflies and Pipevine Swallowtails thrive in canyon riparian areas, while mountain species inhabit Arizona "sky island" forests. Sadly, habitat loss from development, climate crisis, and degradation of precious desert wetlands threatens these fragile populations, making conservation of Arizona's diverse ecosystems critical.

Relish the poetry of butterflies through my carefully crafted fine art prints that transform any space into a celebration of delicate wild beauty!
