Reno Nevada Mid-Century Vintage Photographs – Charming Western Nostalgia

My authentic Reno and Virginia City mid-century photographs by my late father-in-law, Professor Jean Cazemajou. Charming, unique western road trip art for your walls—captured during a French family's remarkable American adventure in 1958. I scanned and painstakingly restored old color slides just for you!

A French Family Discovers Reno

These images preserve a French tourist's wide-eyed encounter with Reno, Nevada at its mid-century peak—neon signs blazing, casinos thriving, and the Biggest Little City in the World living up to its legendary arch. The nearby ghost town of Virginia City, birthplace of the Comstock Lode silver bonanza of 1859, added frontier magic to their journey.

Reno's Storied History

Founded as a railroad town on the Transcontinental Railroad, Reno grew into Nevada's entertainment capital, famous for legalized gambling, quick divorces, and its gateway role to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. By 1958, it was a glittering symbol of American postwar optimism.

Each image is expertly restored and produced with meticulous attention to detail by me, available as museum-quality unframed prints or ready-to-hang canvas wraps!
