  • Personal family history: These pictures are part of a book my wife Agnès and I are putting together with the working title "Midcentury Road Trip: Images from a French Family's American Adventure in the 1950s." She was a child during this trip, and these photographs by her father Jean capture an outsider's fascination with American urban life, and a warm welcome by Americans of the era
