My pretty picture of a 1940 Ford De luxe: shiny pre-war sheet metal! The De Luxe models were an upscale alternative to the standard Ford cars, and a stepping stone to the premium Lincolns of the time. Ford's Mercury line of cars eventually replaced the De Luxe.
