Pretty petals of the precious Ironwood tree, captured by me on camera in the great Ironwood Forest National Monument of southern Arizona, planet Earth! The ironwood tree is an indigenous cultural resource, a keystone species, a nurse plant, has extremely dense wood, and is severely threatened throughout its Sonoran Desert range by wildfires of invasive species, and illegal logging for woodcarving. Often unremarkable in appearance, this tree is tremendously important and produces lovely flowers with colors ranging from blue to lavender to pink to purple to white!  Original, unique signed art by Murray Bolesta.
